Drawing is at the heart of almost any artistic endeavor. Join Misty Johnson the last Saturday of each month and enhance your drawing skills. Each session will focus on a different drawing technique or material. This studio session series is being held in conjunction with Sketching American Modernism: Works on Paper from the Permanent Collection, on view through April 8, 2017, at the ZMA.
SESSION 1 | The Basics
Develop basic skills, draw with confidence, and hone your observational skills.
Saturday, January 28, 2–4 pm, at the ZMA.
SESSION 2 | Charcoal
Create bold, striking imagery with compressed charcoal and explore line quality, shading, and tips and tricks specific to charcoal.
Saturday, February 25, 2–4 pm, at the ZMA.
SESSION 3 | Colored Pencil
Discover the rich color palette and exquisite detail possible with colored pencil drawing.
Saturday, March 25, 2–4 pm, at the ZMA.
