The Shirley Gorsuch Gallery
As part of the ZMA’s capital campaign in 2001, Mr. Charles ‘Chick’ Gorsuch purchased the naming rights to this gallery in honor of his late wife, Mrs. Shirley Gorsuch. “I am very proud of the Art Museum. I think it’s a great asset to Zanesville, as there are few towns our size that can boast such an asset. Doing this makes me feel proud,” stated Mr. Gorsuch.
After housing Mrs. Gorsuch’s extensive collection of Madame Alexander Dolls for over fourteen years, the gallery underwent a dramatic reinstallation in 2017. This gallery now features some of the masterpieces from the ZMA’s permanent collection, along with a selection of works loaned from our generous patrons. From sixteenth to early-twentieth century American and European works, this gallery continues to exude the elegance and beauty embodied in its namesake.
