This fall, the Zanesville Museum of Art celebrates the Southeastern Ohio Watermedia Society (SEOWS) Juried Exhibition. This exhibition highlights the exceptional work artists create using various water-based media, including watercolor, acrylic, ink, tempera, and collage. SEOWS held its first juried exhibition in September 1977 at the Zanesville Art Center, now the Zanesville Museum of Art with sixteen original members participating. Today, the society's 30 members represent Muskingum, Washington, Coshocton, Guernsey, Belmont, Perry, and Monroe counties.

This year the exhibition juror is watermedia artist Pam Hartford. President of the Central Ohio Watercolor Society, signature member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, and President of the Ohio Pastel Artists League, Hartford specializes in portraiture and landscape painting.

Awards will be presented Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the exhibition opening by Pam Hartford.

The SEOWS hosts workshops and exhibitions that broaden appreciation for water-based media.
