Join us for an exciting discussion on The Ceramic Career of M. Louise McLaughlin by Anita J. Ellis. Although a talented painter, McLaughlin is celebrated for her part in the development of a wildly popular pottery decorating technique inspired by pieces she saw at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in . Formerly a porcelain painter, she turned her attention to perfecting the underglaze painting technique that went on to be used by major Ohio American Art Pottery Manufacturers like the Rookwood Pottery Company, the Weller Pottery Company, the Roseville Pottery Company and more. Enjoy learning more about this amazing artist and the challenges she met and overcame throughout her career.
