CLAY CITY | Ceramic Camp

Using the ZMA's collection of American Art Pottery, you will learn about Zanesville's rich history as the clay capital of the world and follow the example of renowned local artists as you create ceramic masterpieces with your own hands. Express yourself with different shapes, textures, and colorful Amaco glazes. You may even try your hand at the potter's wheel.

Work together with other campers to plan a unique clay creation for display in the museum's Bebe Grant Memorial Garden.

The Ceramic Camp runs Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5 and continues Monday, August 8, through Friday, August 12, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Ufortunately, the ZMA does not offer transportation to and from camp or extended care.

Confirmation notices will be sent by email upon receipt of your completed registration and payment. You will be notified if the camp is full. Please print and bring your confirmation notice on the first day of class for check-in.

A parent or guardian is required to sign their child in to and out of Summer Art Camp at the museum. A sign-in form is available at the front desk. We would be happy to make alternate arrangements if another designated guardian will drop off or pick up your child. Please provide prior written notice.

Full refunds will only be granted if the program is cancelled. Scholarship recipients do not receive any refund. Please notify us immediately of any cancellations so that a child on our waiting list can attend camp.

Dress for creative success. Wear clothes that can get dirty. Summer Art Campers should wear shoes that fasten to their feet; sandals must have a heel strap. For your child’s safety, please, no flip-flops.
