Muskingum County K–12 Student Art Exhibition Opening

Join us and our partners from the Zanesville chapter of the American Association of University Women in celebrating local student artwork during the opening of the Muskingum County K–12 Student Art Exhibition Sunday, April 29, 1:00–3:00 pm, in the Great Gallery. Free and open to the public. Enjoy complimentary refreshments and live music by ZHS's Satin Strings while viewing a wide range of artwork from area schools.

This year, The Community Bank, the ZMA, and the city of Zanesville Mayor’s Office will honor student artistic achievement by awarding ten outstanding works of art from elementary, intermediate, middle school, and high school categories and one outstanding art educator the museum’s Avant-Garde Award. Students and art educators are encouraged to attend the awards ceremony to receive the awards presented by Zanesville Mayor Jeff Tilton, ZMA director Laine Snyder, and The Community Bank president and CEO, Eric Holsky.

This year, enjoy a special presentation by Stephanie Shirer and her Dresden and Adamsville Elementary students. Inspired by the prehistoric cave painting of Lascaux, students created a large-scale cave painting installation that will be on view during the opening. Enjoy a guided tour through the cave led by the artists themselves.
