Weller Pottery and the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904
Join American Art Pottery enthusiast, collector, researcher and author Mark Bassett for an exciting talk on the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Officially, The Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904, the event celebrated the centennial of the 1803 Louisiana Purchase, and it showcased entertainment, consumer goods, and pop culture.
As a leading producer of American Art Pottery, Weller Pottery Company exhibited at the event, and showcased their expertise with a series of monumental floor vases, two of which are now part of the ZMA's permanent collection. Learn more about these works and many more and have a chance to ask your questions about the Weller Pottery Company and the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904.
