Join us in celebrating the annual Pottery Lovers Show and Sale with an exciting series of lectures. Learn more about the world-famous local pottery manufacturers and the people behind them with friendly and knowledgeable guest speakers.

The life and Times of William A. Long: His Significant Contributions to American Art Pottery and Their Glazes from 1880s to 1900s

Speaker: ZMA American Art Pottery Advisor, J.B. Owens Pottery Collector and Researcher Edward Council

Join Edward Council for an interesting look into the life of William Long. William Long and his company coworkers are credited with the creation of the post Cincinnati Limoges glazes (i.e. Standard type glazes made famous by Rookwood and Lonhuda), matte Art Nouveau glazed pottery in the early 1900s of Denver and Commercial Indian Ware Pottery plus micro-crystalline Glazes in New Jersey later 1900s.

Friday, July 12, 12 pm, at the ZMA in the 1st Floor American Art Pottery Gallery. Free and open to the public. Light lunch refreshments will be provided. Registration required by July 11, 2024.
