Join ZMA education coordinator and ceramic artist, Misty Johnson at Zanesville Pottery this summer to create your own ceramics. Teens will learn about creating, drying, firing, and glazing pottery. Throughout the camp, teens in grades 7–12 will experiment with hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab construction; use the pottery wheel to create one of a kind pieces or wheel-thrown elements for hand-built pieces; and then utilize these new skills to create a collaborative totem to display in the Zanesville Museum of Art’s Bebe Grant Memorial Garden. Finished pieces will be kiln-fired and available to pick up at the ZMA by July 11.
