Summer Art Camp

Captivating Clay
Ages 10 to 14

Dive into the exciting world of clay in this SIX-DAY camp. Over the first five days, discover the many ways ceramic artists create with clay. Explore the extensive art pottery collection at the ZMA and discover how Zanesville earned the nicknames “Clay City” and “Pottery Capital of the World.” Sculpt with traditional pinch, coil, and slab techniques, and try your hand at the pottery wheel! Instructor Robin Schuricht will guide you as you experiment with textures and patterns to turn your clay vessels into works of art!

Your creations will dry over the following weeks and be fired by ZMA staff. Return to the ZMA on June 20, 9am to 12pm* to finish your pieces with a wide variety of colorful glazes.

All supplies and a light snack are provided.

Monday– Friday, June 2–6, 1:30–4:30pm AND Friday, June 20, 9am–12pm* at the ZMA.
